Victor Central Schools Prevents 20 Downtime-Causing Issues

Victor Central School District in upstate New York provides education services to roughly 4,500 students and close to 500 staff members. To support its server virtualization and Horizon desktop environments, the district ran two vCenters across 4 server hosts and 3 desktop hosts, with 45 virtualized servers and 160 virtualized Win10 desktops. Its main concern was not knowing whether its VMware environment had misconfiguration issues or security vulnerabilities.

Runecast deployed Runecast Analyzer in about 90 minutes, including recurring driver incompatibility updates, and gave Victor Central School District a way to pinpoint and remediate vulnerabilities with one-click re-analysis afterward. Within the first few months, Runecast helped the district identify and fix more than 20 critical issues, along with outdated driver and misconfiguration problems. It also identified a buggy NIC driver tied to a purple screen of death, and after the driver was updated on all hosts, the issue did not recur.
