Runecast Analyzer Minimizes Operational Risks for Supported Space Missions

The German Aerospace Center (DLR), Germany’s national aeronautics and space research center, faced a challenge in its German Space Operations Center because its VMware vSphere environment had grown into a mix of many different versions across mission-critical systems. With active systems difficult to shut down and no central shared storage system available, maintaining ESXi hosts and reducing risk from unpatched bugs became cumbersome.

DLR deployed Runecast Analyzer across GSOC’s environment after a proof of concept, covering a mix of vSphere 5.5 and 6.5 across about 80 hosts in two vCenters. Runecast Analyzer was easy to deploy and configure, and it gave DLR early warnings about potential bugs, security risks, and problems with new versions or updates before they became real issues, helping improve stability and performance.
