NJVC Utilizes Runecast Analyzer to Move From Reactive to Proactive VMware vSphere Management

NJVC, a Virginia-based IT provider to the intelligence and defense communities, needed a simpler way to analyze and document VMware vSphere performance improvements while improving stability without spending excessive time on manual work. Senior Systems Engineer Marc Crawford was responsible for NJVC’s VMware estate supporting 2500 employees, and he looked for a solution that could help move the team beyond reactive management.

NJVC chose Runecast Analyzer after evaluating options at VMworld because it searched and compared the VMware Knowledge Base to meet their requirements. Runecast Analyzer was deployed across three vCenters, and it identified issues including driver and firmware incompatibility, patches needed to remove vulnerabilities and bugs, and configuration changes to address security concerns. According to NJVC, Runecast helped reduce downtime, save many man-hours, and keep the environment better optimized, configured, patched, and secured.
