A Ruffalo Noel Levitz Case Study
The University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) sought to become more strategic in goal setting and long-term enrollment management to grow and more precisely shape its incoming classes. In August 2008 UNK began working with Ruffalo Noel Levitz for enrollment management consulting and strategic enrollment planning to replace ad hoc recruitment and retention efforts with a coordinated, data-driven approach.
Ruffalo Noel Levitz helped UNK develop a recruitment plan and its first comprehensive strategic enrollment plan in 10 months, created a core enrollment management council, and refined data collection to support more aggressive targets. As a result, UNK recorded its seventh consecutive year of enrollment growth in fall 2010, reaching 6,753 students (the highest since 1999); first-time freshmen increased 15.2%, with a 55% rise in first-year students from Colorado and an 11% increase from Kansas, helping UNK meet key out-of-state goals.
