The University of California, Santa Barbara set out to run its first comprehensive online giving day but lacked a robust digital fundraising strategy. UCSB partnered with Ruffalo Noel Levitz and adopted the ScaleFunder Giving Day Module to design and execute the #UCSBGiveDay campaign.
Ruffalo Noel Levitz combined the ScaleFunder platform with consulting, A/B testing, on‑site workshops, branded unit pages, a floating "Give Now" button, ambassador tracking, and major‑gift match strategies to drive participation. The effort raised $3.72 million from 1,268 gifts (including $806,821 from the College of Engineering), secured roughly $800,000 for matches and $600,000 in seed gifts, and delivered strong conversion performance—providing a repeatable blueprint from Ruffalo Noel Levitz for future giving days.
