A Ruffalo Noel Levitz Case Study
Pratt Institute partnered with Ruffalo Noel Levitz to raise the academic profile of incoming students, increase enrollment and access, and better understand how different discount and scholarship strategies would impact institutional goals. Pratt engaged Ruffalo Noel Levitz’s financial aid research and scholarship strategy services to design a targeted merit and need-based aid approach.
Ruffalo Noel Levitz helped Pratt implement data-driven financial aid and scholarship strategies over a 13-year partnership, leading to measurable gains: average freshman GPA rose from 2.8 to 3.5, average SAT increased from 1010 to 1170, and overall enrollment grew from 3,000 to 4,780 with most programs at capacity. Pratt expanded from a regional to a national residential campus (73% of students from outside New York, 88% of freshmen living on campus), doubled its freshman class from 325 to 640 requiring a new dorm, and improved affordability and diversity for low-income students.
