Georgia College & State University engaged Ruffalo Noel Levitz to tackle student retention and graduation rates by studying the current status of student progressions and identifying obstacles to re-enrollment. The university’s objective was to improve student success through data-driven analysis and targeted interventions, using a Ruffalo Noel Levitz retention consultant to lead the effort.

Ruffalo Noel Levitz helped form a retention committee, conduct student satisfaction research, evaluate academic advising, and perform predictive modeling, which informed a campuswide retention plan featuring advisor training, supplemental instruction, and increased support in “killer” courses. Within one year first-to-second-year retention increased, the committee stayed ahead of a systemwide retention initiative, and the work began shifting campus culture toward ongoing retention-focused engagement.
