Brescia University, a small private Catholic four-year university in Owensboro, Kentucky, needed stronger reporting and data analysis to support financial aid award strategy. With a small staff and a competitive local market, the university wanted to improve how it attracted, converted, enrolled, and retained students while also increasing enrollment and net tuition and fee revenue. It began working with Ruffalo Noel Levitz in 2009 using RNL’s Advanced FinAid Solutions.

Ruffalo Noel Levitz set up a data-driven process that included bi-weekly data extracts, online dashboards, and regular consultant reviews with action-item recommendations. The university used the scores to segment and prioritize outreach and to assign additional aid when available, while RNL also provided annual modeling and strategic guidance. From 2009 through fall 2020, Brescia University saw a 24% increase in first-year enrollment and a 10% increase in net tuition and fee revenue.
