Wi-Fi Is Key For a Great Customer Experience

JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, the world’s tallest 5‑star hotel with 1,608 rooms across 72 floors and extensive MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and events) space, was struggling with inconsistent Wi‑Fi coverage outside lobbies and communal areas. The legacy system couldn’t keep up with guests’ multiple mobile devices, causing complaints and limiting the hotel’s ability to host large business events to its standards.

Working with Ruckus Networks and partner Intertouch, the hotel deployed 3,000 BeamFlex-enabled 802.11ac access points (in‑room and ceiling models) in a staged install that didn’t disrupt guests; the network now supports up to 6,000 simultaneous devices. The upgrade eliminated most Wi‑Fi complaints, freed IT staff from constant fixes, boosted guest satisfaction significantly, and opened the venue to many more major conferences and revenue opportunities.
