A RUCKUS Networks Case Study
Victor Central School District (VCSD), a school district serving 4,500 students near Rochester, New York, faced significant challenges with an aging wireless network that could not support its shift to 1:1 learning with Chromebooks. Frequent device drop-offs and unreliable connectivity were frustrating students and staff, prompting the need for a future-proof solution. The district turned to RUCKUS Networks to replace its old infrastructure.
RUCKUS Networks deployed 400 indoor and 5 outdoor 802.11ac Wave 2 access points, along with a virtual SmartZone controller for high availability and Cloudpath software for secure onboarding. The solution provided VCSD with seamless, ubiquitous Wi-Fi coverage and greatly increased the number of concurrent clients supported per access point. This gave the district a reliable, secure, and scalable network foundation to support digital learning district-wide.
