A RUCKUS Networks Case Study
Universidad Peruana Unión (UPEU) is a private university in Peru serving nearly 12,000 students across three campuses. The campus suffered heavy RF interference from surrounding buildings and a dense neighborhood, and its existing standalone access points could only handle 15–20 users each (far below demand), causing frequent complaints and preventing teachers from using online classroom applications.
UPEU tested and then deployed Ruckus hardware and SmartZone management (R300/H500/T300 APs and ZoneDirector/SmartZone controllers) with help from partner Solnet; installation was fast and immediately reduced interference. The university now runs a centrally managed, scalable 802.11ac network (about 98 APs and growing), supports high-density classes with seamless portal authentication, and reports reliable, higher-capacity Wi‑Fi across its campuses.
