SevenHills Hospital Aided by Ruckus Dispensing First-Class Healthcare to Over 1500 Patients

SevenHills Hospital in Mumbai is a 1,500‑bed, 17‑acre, 16‑tower medical campus that set out to become India’s first truly paperless hospital. Before opening, IT leadership needed a wireless solution that delivered complete campus coverage, wired‑speed throughput for CT images and video streaming, RF interference avoidance, centralized management and easy deployment — after trials with multiple vendors they selected the best fit.

The hospital deployed 320 Ruckus ZoneFlex 7962 APs and two ZoneDirector 3000 controllers, leveraging adaptive antennas, Smart Mesh and self‑configuring APs to provide seamless roaming, VLAN segmentation and strong video QoS. The network enabled real‑time EMR access, CT viewing, VoIP, RFID and location services, resulting in campus‑wide wireless coverage at near‑wired speeds, faster bedside consultations, reduced admin overhead and new wireless applications that improved patient care and operational efficiency.
