San José McEnery Convention Center delivers free Wi‑Fi across 367,526 square feet with RUCKUS Networks

The San José McEnery Convention Center, the largest convention center in Silicon Valley, needed a reliable, high-capacity Wi-Fi network to support high-density tech events and thousands of simultaneous users. Their challenge was to provide ubiquitous, secure coverage throughout the expansive venue with high ceilings. They partnered with RUCKUS Networks to upgrade their infrastructure.

RUCKUS implemented a solution using hundreds of their indoor and outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access points with directional antennas, a multi-gigabit fiber backbone with ICX switches, and the SmartZone WLAN controller managed with RUCKUS AI. This unified RUCKUS network provided centralized management and eliminated bottlenecks. The result was a superior Wi-Fi experience that successfully supported thousands of attendees streaming simultaneously at a premier gaming convention, helping the venue attract and host major tech events.
