A RUCKUS Networks Case Study
AccorHotels Arena, a top-five indoor venue in Paris with capacity for 20,000 spectators, faced a major connectivity challenge during a 17-month renovation: outdated cabling, only 40 aging access points and virtually no reliable Wi‑Fi. The arena needed a scalable, high‑capacity wireless solution that delivered seamless coverage inside and outside the venue, simple management and interference‑aware performance for high‑density crowds.
Ruckus Wireless was selected and deployed R500/R700 APs throughout the stadium, 65 T301s on the ceiling, 12 T300s for outdoor coverage and the Virtual SmartZone controller, using SPoT and Smart Cell Insight for real‑time location and analytics. The new network dramatically increased concurrent users, enabled seamless roaming, provided real‑time and historic audience data to power mobile services and upsells, and raised visitor satisfaction.
