A RUCKUS Networks Case Study
St. Jozefs College in Aalst, Belgium, a secondary boarding school serving 1,200 students and 120 teachers, needed fast, reliable, high‑capacity Wi‑Fi to support student tablets, digital learning and separate networks for staff, students and guests. The campus suffered coverage gaps and poor density handling from an assortment of legacy routers and older buildings, so the IT team sought an easy‑to‑manage, future‑proof solution.
Working with The Network Factory, the school deployed Ruckus ZoneFlex access points (R500/R310/R300) controlled by a ZoneDirector 1200; a proof‑of‑concept showed Ruckus required 25 APs versus 45 for a competitor. BeamFlex antenna technology boosted range and reduced interference, delivering campus‑wide coverage, higher client density, segmented VLANs and simpler administration—resulting in reliable, scalable Wi‑Fi that supports current teaching methods and future needs.
