Ruckus Wired and Wireless Network Gives Students Ready Access to the World

Wilton Public Schools, serving about 4,000 students, sought to expand 21st‑century digital learning but was held back by an unreliable, slow Wi‑Fi network, costly and hard‑to‑manage chassis switches, and no centralized network management—issues that disrupted classes and made teachers reluctant to adopt digital tools.

The district partnered with TBNG to deploy a Ruckus solution—220 802.11ac R720 APs, 100 ICX switches and ZoneDirector/Virtual SmartZone—installed in roughly three weeks. The new infrastructure delivered fast, reliable, centrally managed wired and wireless connectivity, supported 1,000+ Chromebooks plus thousands of personal devices, enabled district‑wide online testing, reduced costs and IT overhead, and freed staff to pursue new projects like IP surveillance and building automation.
