RUCKUS® Switches Help Launch New Chapter in Online Library Services

Fraser Valley Regional Library (FVRL) operates a network that serves 25 libraries and roughly 700,000 people across 23,000 square miles. The small IT team faced unreliable, hard-to-manage legacy switches that threatened performance and made it impossible to deliver the full Microsoft Office suite via Citrix to more than 400 public thin clients.

FVRL replaced the aging gear with about 50 RUCKUS ICX switches—centrally managed, easy to deploy and configured with redundant power—and rolled them out to the head office and branch sites. The new switches have had no failures, enabled reliable, real-time access to Microsoft Office for patrons, reduced field troubleshooting, and freed IT resources to focus on new projects.
