Ruckus Switches Help Launch New Chapter in Online Library Services

Fraser Valley Regional Library (FVRL) is a regional library system serving roughly 700,000 people across 25 libraries and 23,000 square miles. With a small IT team supporting a Citrix server farm and hundreds of public thin‑client terminals, FVRL was constrained by aging, unreliable switches that hindered performance and made it impossible to deliver the full Microsoft Office suite to remote patrons.

FVRL replaced its legacy gear with 50 Ruckus ICX switches (including about 35 remote switches managed centrally), a quick, low‑cost rollout that worked plug‑and‑play. The new switches have had no failures, enabled real‑time Office access on 400+ terminals, cut field troubleshooting, and freed IT staff to focus on new projects.
