Case Study: Dr Pepper Ballpark achieves seamless high-speed, high-density Wi‑Fi and elevated fan experience with RUCKUS Networks

A RUCKUS Networks Case Study

Preview of the Dr Pepper Ballpark Case Study

RUCKUS provides champion-caliber wired and wireless network

Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas — home to the Frisco RoughRiders and 10,316 fans — needed a fast, reliable, easy-to-manage Wi‑Fi system that could handle high-density crowds, nearby interference and a tight three-week timeline before Opening Day. The stadium previously lacked comprehensive wireless coverage, limiting fan engagement, vendor point-of-sale and real-time communications.

Skinny IT and RUCKUS delivered a core-to-edge solution using ICX switches over redundant fiber (up to 40Gbps), 85 RUCKUS access points and two virtual SmartZone controllers for redundancy and centralized management. The deployment used 20% fewer APs than competitors, provides seamless roaming and high-capacity Wi‑Fi across the park, simplified management, and added analytics for better fan engagement and operational insights.
