A RUCKUS Networks Case Study

Ruckus Provides Champion-Caliber Wired and Wireless Network

Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas—the 10,316‑seat home of the Frisco RoughRiders—needed to deliver modern, stadium‑wide connectivity for fans, vendors and staff. Built without Wi‑Fi in mind and surrounded by competing signals, the ballpark faced the challenge of installing a high‑density, fast and unobtrusive network in just three weeks before Opening Day 2017.

Skinny IT partnered with Ruckus to deploy a redundant fiber backbone with ICX switches, 85 Ruckus access points and two virtual SmartZone controllers, delivering up to 40 Gbps distribution, seamless roaming and 20% fewer APs than competing solutions. The result: reliable, easy‑to‑manage Wi‑Fi that blankets seats, suites and concessions, supports sellout crowds, provides location analytics via vSPoT, and significantly elevated the fan experience and operational capabilities.
