A RUCKUS Networks Case Study
Butler University, a private Indianapolis campus serving about 5,500 students across 300 acres, needed to refresh an aging wired and Wi‑Fi network that suffered dead zones, interference in older buildings, and capacity limits—while also reducing CapEx and OpEx and delivering reliable campus‑wide connectivity for teaching, residential life and high‑performance Esports events.
Partnering with AvantBlue and RUCKUS Networks, Butler deployed RUCKUS ICX switches, Wi‑Fi 6E APs (R560/R760), SmartZone controllers, Cloudpath enrollment and RUCKUS AI. The zero‑touch rollout eliminated coverage gaps, boosted speeds and resiliency (including upgraded uplinks to 40 Gb and scalable core options), simplified onboarding and management, and supported latency‑sensitive Esports and dense student housing—delivering an estimated $1 million in savings.
