A RUCKUS Networks Case Study
Dublin Unified School District, a fast-growing K–12 district in California serving over 10,000 students, faced an aging network that couldn’t support Common Core digital learning, online testing, and a planned 1:1 Chromebook rollout. District leaders needed a scalable wired and wireless upgrade to deliver reliable, high‑capacity Wi‑Fi across 12 campuses so every student and teacher could access cloud-based applications and testing.
The district replaced its infrastructure with a Ruckus/Brocade solution—deploying roughly 510 access points (460 ZoneFlex 7982 + 50 R700), two ZoneDirector controllers, and Brocade Network Advisor—completed in about two months. The upgrade enabled distribution of 10,000 Chromebooks for a successful 1:1 program, dramatically improved bandwidth and reliability, simplified management, reduced the number of APs required versus the prior system, and future‑proofed the network for continued growth.
