Ruckus Helps New Boutique Hotel Stay Connected

QT Melbourne is a newly built boutique hotel in the heart of Melbourne that blends 1920s-inspired design with modern hospitality. With 188 uniquely styled rooms plus restaurants, bars and meeting spaces, the hotel faced a complex connectivity challenge: guests routinely use multiple devices for streaming and social sharing, Wi‑Fi signals had to traverse varied layouts and materials, and access points needed to be discreet so as not to disrupt the hotel’s aesthetic.

Ruckus conducted a site survey and deployed a ZoneDirector 3000 controller with 190 H500 and 60 R500 802.11ac Wave 2 access points, leveraging BeamFlex and ChannelFly to steer signals and avoid interference. The result was fast, reliable, hotel-wide Wi‑Fi that met design constraints, reduced complaints, and delivered the uninterrupted connectivity guests expect.
