Case Study: Burlington County achieves faster, more reliable county-wide Wi‑Fi and simplified management with RUCKUS Networks

A RUCKUS Networks Case Study

Preview of the Burlington County Case Study

RUCKUS helps bring more availability and reliability to New Jersey’s biggest county

Burlington County, the largest county in New Jersey with 92 public buildings and roughly 2,500 users, struggled with unreliable Wi‑Fi, outdated wiring in historic structures, unresponsive vendor support and tight budgets—challenges that were amplified by COVID and increased demand for public connectivity. The county needed a cost-effective, reliable upgrade that would work across legacy buildings and not disrupt critical services like 911.

Working with Northpoint Solutions and RUCKUS, Burlington County used EDA/CARES funding to phase in a Wi‑Fi 6 network: 155 RUCKUS R750 indoor APs, 134 ICX switches (7850/7550/7150) and RUCKUS One cloud AI management, deployed via heatmaps and careful scheduling to avoid service interruptions. The result is a faster, more stable network with single‑pane‑of‑glass management, quicker vendor support, expanded public Wi‑Fi, far fewer outages, and an overall deployment delivered at an estimated 30% lower cost than a competitor’s proposal.
