Ruckus Cloud Wi-Fi Upgrades Classroom Learning

Minooka Community Consolidated School District #201 serves about 4,500 pre-K–8 students across seven campuses spanning 70+ square miles in Minooka, Illinois. After six years on a hardware controller–based Aironet network, IT struggled with complex management, frequent AP failures, a controller single point of failure and rising demands for reliable in-classroom connectivity and online testing.

The district moved to Ruckus Cloud Wi‑Fi, deploying 92 Ruckus Unleashed R500/R600 access points for cloud-based management, better roaming and higher capacity. Results included more than 1,000 clients connected across two buildings during PARCC testing (over 90 concurrent test takers on a single AP), faster connections, fewer help tickets, and lower costs by eliminating multiple controller purchases.
