A RUCKUS Networks Case Study
SOVAK is a Dutch care institution for adults and children with intellectual disabilities that needed to future‑proof its ICT to support care innovations like robots, sensors and cloud monitoring. With residents, staff and volunteers using personal devices around the clock across multi‑dwelling units and offices, SOVAK faced bandwidth, range and reliability challenges to keep applications and sensitive data running 24/7.
RUCKUS partner XIXO deployed RUCKUS SmartZone controllers and RUCKUS access points across SOVAK’s main building and 65 local facilities (serving ~700 residents, 1,000 employees and 500 volunteers), consolidating IT and resident networks on a redundant SmartZone cluster with dual WANs. The rollout was fast, used fewer APs than competing solutions, and delivered secure, stable Wi‑Fi with seamless roaming, high uptime and the capacity to support IoT sensors and future care applications—completed on time and within budget.
