A RUCKUS Networks Case Study
Raroa School, an intermediate school in Wellington, New Zealand with over 540 students across a multi‑acre campus of eight buildings and outdoor areas, was plagued by unreliable Wi‑Fi. Inexpensive consumer access points couldn’t handle high device density or penetrate steel‑and‑brick construction, leaving laptop carts and classrooms frequently disconnected; the school needed a centrally managed, cost‑effective WLAN with ubiquitous coverage and better range.
Raroa installed ten Ruckus ZoneFlex 2925/2942 smart APs and a ZoneDirector 1012 controller, configured and deployed in under six hours. The long‑range antenna technology and centralized management delivered complete campus coverage, higher user density per AP, fewer dropped connections, simpler administration and support for future streaming — all at a fraction of the cost of comparable enterprise systems.
