Case Study: District of Mission achieves simplified, secure Wi-Fi and single-pane network management with RUCKUS Networks

A RUCKUS Networks Case Study

Preview of the District of Mission Case Study

Networking Made Easy Through Single Pane of Glass

District of Mission, a municipal government in British Columbia, faced an increasingly strained network across its municipal buildings: wired and wireless systems were costly and labor‑intensive to manage, security relied on shared passwords with no easy way to revoke access, and aging infrastructure couldn’t keep up with rapidly growing numbers of devices and Wi‑Fi demand.

The district deployed Ruckus gear—15 access points, 13 ICX switches, a SmartZone controller and Cloudpath on a fiber backbone—giving IS a single pane‑of‑glass for unified management. The upgrade cut day‑to‑day operational effort and cost, improved coverage and client capacity, and introduced AD‑integrated dynamic PSKs for self‑service onboarding and automated revocation. The result is a more secure, scalable network that frees IS to pursue smart‑city initiatives and future expansion.
