Murdoch University Village Reaches Out to All

Murdoch University Village is a three‑hectare student precinct in Perth housing more than 800 students across about 170 apartments. Facing growing demand for untethered access from smartphones and tablets, the Village needed ubiquitous, secure Wi‑Fi that would integrate with existing wired infrastructure, be remotely manageable, and be deployed within a very short summer window.

BigAir (a Ruckus partner) installed 123 Ruckus ZoneFlex 7343 access points and a ZoneDirector 3150 controller (with PoE injectors where required), completing the rollout in four days. Ruckus’s adaptive‑antenna technology provided strong, campus‑wide coverage and high user density, delivering typical speeds of 15–25 Mbps, simpler management and billing, and high student satisfaction.
