A RUCKUS Networks Case Study

Preview of the Saratoga Race Course Case Study

Monetization of Ruckus Wi-Fi is off to the Races at Saratoga

Saratoga Race Course, operated by the New York Racing Association, needed to modernize and monetize guest Wi‑Fi across its 350‑acre grounds while ensuring reliable performance for fans using mobile services like betting, food ordering, and video replays. With a small IT staff, NYRA sought an outsourced solution that could cover high attendance days and turn Wi‑Fi access into a revenue and marketing channel.

Deep Blue Communication deployed about 250 Ruckus access points and SmartZone management, and RaGaPa’s CaptiveXS captive portal provided targeted engagement and ad insertion. The network now supports up to 15,000 devices daily and handled more than 1 TB of traffic on peak days, producing hundreds of thousands of ad impressions and capturing tens of thousands of qualified emails—boosting partner revenue and improving the fan experience.
