Maurice Sporting Goods Trades Up to Smart Wireless LAN System from Ruckus Wireless

Maurice Sporting Goods, the world's largest sporting goods distributor, needed affordable, reliable Wi‑Fi at its 65,000 sq. ft. corporate headquarters but the three‑person IT team’s initial SOHO D‑Link deployment (router + nine APs) was unstable, required daily reboots, forced AP‑level DHCP, lacked multiple SSIDs for guest access, and consumed excessive admin time.

They replaced the consumer gear with a Ruckus ZoneFlex solution (one ZoneDirector 1006 and six ZoneFlex 2942 APs), gaining centralized management, VLAN‑segmented SSIDs with guest pass and bandwidth controls, automatic AP discovery and rogue AP alerts, and extended coverage with fewer APs. The result: stable, ubiquitous Wi‑Fi, elimination of major connectivity problems, roughly a 90–95% reduction in network administration time, and lower cost than high‑end enterprise alternatives.
