A RUCKUS Networks Case Study
Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, a global hospitality group, needed to modernize connectivity across five Singapore properties where a legacy 2011 Wi‑Fi architecture—limited to 802.11n, patchy coverage and interference from outdated antenna cabling—couldn’t support growing guest demands, multimedia streaming or planned innovations like the AURA service robots. Reliable, hotel-wide high-performance Wi‑Fi was required to improve guest experience and enable new digital services and IoT initiatives.
Partnering with Ruckus Networks, the hotels deployed over 2,900 802.11ac Wave 2 access points, 135+ ICX switches and 2-node SmartZone clusters per property, with APs tailored by location (in-room, common areas, ballrooms, outdoor). The upgrade enabled AURA robot rollouts, in-room check-in and VIP signing, seamless streaming and near-elimination of Wi‑Fi complaints, while boosting staff productivity, reducing operating costs and laying a scalable foundation for future IoT services.
