IT’s Network Modernization Supports New President’s Priorities

Albertus Magnus College, a private Catholic liberal arts college of about 1,500 students in New Haven, needed a modern network to support the new president’s goals of increasing on‑campus enrollment and offering more flexible course delivery. The campus’s early 20th‑century mansion buildings created thick‑wall interference that left students and faculty with unreliable Aruba Wi‑Fi, while a small IT team spent excessive time troubleshooting and onboarding devices.

TBNG designed and deployed a Ruckus solution—about 120 indoor/outdoor APs, 30 ICX multi‑gig switches with a 10 GbE backbone and SmartZone controllers—bringing campus‑wide coverage and stronger signals even through historic walls. Complaints dropped to nearly zero, device onboarding is now simple, the IT team spends far less time troubleshooting, and the upgraded network reliably supports streaming and blended learning, campus events and future services like IP cameras and secure guest access.
