A RUCKUS Networks Case Study
The Frankelandgroep, a Dutch care provider with a homecare division and five long‑term care locations serving about 800 residents, needed to move from paper records to Elektronische Cliënten Dossiers (ECDs). Their challenge was to deliver secure, always‑available Wi‑Fi with seamless roaming and enough capacity for staff and visitors across all apartments and workspaces — replacing an overloaded single auditorium hotspot.
Oaktree implemented a Ruckus solution after pilot tests, installing 328 access points and two geographically separated SmartZone controllers, using a VLAN/SVI architecture and certificate‑based EAP‑TLS with WPA2‑E for security. The result was full, reliable coverage (thanks in part to BeamFlex antenna tech), quick access to ECDs even at patients’ bedsides, the ability to handle peak loads, a nine‑week rollout after testing, and a future‑proof network that frees the organization to add new services.
