A RUCKUS Networks Case Study
Hyatt Hotels Australia, which operates five hotels and serves about 571,000 guests a year, needed to replace an aging Wi‑Fi network that left rooms, corridors and public spaces with inconsistent coverage. Complex RF environments and decorative metal fixtures created dead zones, and the company required an aesthetically pleasing, quick-to-deploy solution that would minimise disruption to day‑to‑day operations.
After a pilot at Park Hyatt Canberra, Hyatt rolled out Ruckus ZoneFlex — 585 access points and five ZoneDirector 3000 controllers — across the portfolio. The deployment reduced total AP counts (for example, Hyatt Regency Perth went from ~200 to <100), improved signal strength and stability, supported events of 800+ attendees, cut complaints about Wi‑Fi, and made the network easier to run and future‑proof.
