Hotel Checks into Ruckus and Assa Abloy Global Solutions Iot Suite to Impress and Protect Guests

The Royal Park Hotel, a luxury property in Rochester, Michigan, wanted to modernize guest services by replacing standalone door locks with an online, IoT-enabled entry system while avoiding the cost and complexity of a separate overlay network and creating a cohesive long-term IoT strategy.

Working with Ruckus and ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, the hotel deployed the Ruckus IoT Suite with IoT‑enabled access points, SmartZone controller and ASSA ABLOY Visionline Zigbee locks over the existing Wi‑Fi. The solution delivered mobile key convenience, a single dashboard with real-time security and maintenance alerts, improved staff efficiency, a lower-cost converged network vs. overlays, and a scalable platform for future IoT projects like panic buttons and asset tracking.
