High-Performance Wi-Fi for an Elevated Guest Experience

Imperial Hotel Tokyo — a historic, 931‑room luxury property serving over 10,000 daily visitors — faced frequent Wi‑Fi downtimes, signal interference and complex management from aging equipment and shared access points. The hotel needed consistent, secure, high‑performance wireless across guest rooms, banquet halls and public spaces without disrupting guests or increasing operational overhead.

Working with DOT Communications, the hotel deployed a Ruckus solution (Virtual SmartZone cloud controller, ICX switches and about 1,200 indoor/outdoor APs including H510, R510 and T300) in a phased rollout. The upgrade eliminated interference and room‑wide outages, enabled seamless roaming and automatic 5 GHz connections, improved speeds and resilience during outages, centralized management across properties, and significantly reduced IT support load and operating costs while enhancing the guest experience.
