A RUCKUS Networks Case Study
Greenfield Community Energy and Technology (GCET), a utility created by the town of Greenfield, Massachusetts, faced the challenge of providing reliable broadband internet access to its community. With 40% of the town underserved and an outdated infrastructure, this lack of access hindered economic growth and resident retention. GCET partnered with RUCKUS Networks to build a high-performance, carrier-class Wi-Fi network to serve the entire town.
RUCKUS Networks implemented a Wi-Fi solution utilizing its virtual SmartZone controller hosted in the AWS cloud to efficiently blanket Greenfield's 21 square miles with high-speed coverage. The solution enabled GCET to deliver competitive, high-performance broadband services to residents, including an economical in-home service that utilizes the public Wi-Fi signal. The RUCKUS deployment provided a future-proof network that supports the town's needs without cost to local taxpayers.
