Great Southern Grammar School, a K–12 day and boarding school in Albany, Western Australia with about 715 students, needed to replace its sketchy WLAN with a future‑proof 802.11n wireless network. The IT team wanted campus‑wide dual‑band coverage that would make wired access redundant for laptop users, deliver reliable video and high‑bandwidth performance, and be simple to manage across a mixed Mac/Windows environment.

GSG trialed Ruckus and then deployed 75 ZoneFlex 7962 APs with a ZoneDirector controller, after a successful demo showed easy setup and flicker‑free video thanks to adaptive antennas. The rollout delivered consistent, campus‑wide Wi‑Fi, simplified central management and VLAN configuration, lower operational overhead, and enabled new projects (for example, wireless IP phones) while freeing IT to focus on school improvements.
