Feeling The Need for Speed and Capacity, Reynoldsburg City Schools Makes Wholesale Move to Ruckus 802.11ac Smart Wi-Fi

Reynoldsburg Public Schools needed a faster, higher-capacity Wi‑Fi network to support its 1:1 Chromebook and tablet initiatives, blended learning, online testing, and cloud-based curriculum across 15 schools. Its legacy Aruba Wi‑Fi struggled with client density, random AP reboots, expensive controllers, and difficult management, making reliable wireless access a major challenge. RUCKUS Networks was selected to replace the aging infrastructure with 802.11ac smart Wi‑Fi.

RUCKUS Networks implemented more than 400 ZoneFlex R700 access points managed by redundant ZoneDirector 5000 controllers, with centralized WLAN management, BYOD onboarding, and integration with the district’s iBoss content filtering system. The results included tripled client throughput, improved coverage and reliability, lower total cost of ownership, and the ability to extend wireless to unplanned areas like stadiums, gyms, and outdoor spaces, all while reducing CAPEX and OPEX.
