Elauwit Networks - Customer Case Study

The House at Cornell Tech on Roosevelt Island is the world’s first residential high‑rise built to Passive House standards — cutting energy use by an estimated 60–70% and saving about 882 tons of CO2 annually — and houses 500+ technology graduate students. The project required a reliable, high‑performance Wi‑Fi network to support hundreds of bandwidth‑intensive devices, Wi‑Fi calling and seamless roaming throughout the building, while contending with fixed cabling locations and no cellular coverage above the 8th floor.

Ruckus delivered H510 in‑room APs (in roughly two‑thirds of 352 rooms), R510 APs in common areas and T301 outdoor APs, all managed by an on‑premise SmartZone and a guest captive‑portal. The solution supports about 1,000 devices daily (majority wireless), 800 guest logins and ~2TB of traffic per day, has driven traditional service take‑up to under 10%, and runs on a 2.5Gb primary plus 500Mb redundant circuit, providing ubiquitous coverage and the performance residents need.
