A RUCKUS Networks Case Study
Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU), a leading international university in Malaysia, needed a reliable, high‑performance wireless network for its iconic new campus to support high‑density mobile learning. The challenge was to deliver seamless roaming along the campus “Spine” and across two sites, enable VDI, wireless projection and VOIP, and provide a scalable, easy‑to‑manage solution with secure onboarding for thousands of student and faculty devices.
APU deployed Ruckus indoor/outdoor access points, SmartZone controllers and ICX switches, achieving a fast, scalable network rolled out in under a week with student technicians assisting. The new infrastructure provides campus‑wide seamless roaming, supports about 7,000 concurrent devices with capacity to spare, cut Wi‑Fi complaints, reduced management overhead and manpower needs, and enabled richer digital learning with room to add analytics and location‑based services.
