Del Mar College supports 25,000 users across 45 buildings with RUCKUS Cloud

Del Mar College (DMC), a community college in Texas, faced significant Wi-Fi network challenges that hindered its digital learning initiatives. Their existing network struggled with bandwidth-intensive applications like video, could not reliably support large campus events, and imposed restrictive BYOD policies. To overcome these issues and modernize their infrastructure, DMC partnered with RUCKUS Networks.

The solution deployed was RUCKUS Cloud for centralized management along with 350 RUCKUS 802.11ac access points across the campus. This implementation by RUCKUS Networks allowed each new AP to support up to four times more concurrent users than the legacy equipment. The college achieved high-quality, reliable Wi-Fi coverage for students and staff, while the IT team dramatically reduced time spent on network management, enabling just two specialists to oversee the rapidly growing network.
