Case Study: Myanmar Net achieves affordable, pervasive internet connectivity with RUCKUS Networks

A RUCKUS Networks Case Study

Preview of the Myanmar Net Case Study

Connecting Myanmar to the Digital Future with Affordable, Seamless Internet Connectivity

Myanmar Net, a subsidiary of Frontiir and the largest ISP in Myanmar, set out to connect the country to a digital future by offering affordable, pervasive internet across Yangon, Mandalay and beyond. They faced steep technical and operational challenges: the need for very high AP density without increased interference, simple installations amid a skills shortage, equipment that could withstand extreme weather and unstable power, and a solution that could scale to meet rapidly growing demand.

After selecting Ruckus Networks, Myanmar Net deployed Ruckus T300/R300/R500 APs, wired/wireless wall switches and a SmartCell Gateway, leveraging BeamFlex smart antennas to reduce interference and cover more users with fewer APs. The rollout delivered reliable, high‑performance Wi‑Fi with seamless handoffs, enabled bandwidth sharing to cut operating costs, and scaled to serve over 400,000 subscribers—freeing resources for R&D, new services and broader connectivity across the country.
