A RUCKUS Networks Case Study
Summit Public Schools, a charter network with 10 campuses serving 3,000 students (grades 6–12) and a 1:1 device policy, was hampered by unreliable device authentication and aging network gear. Pre‑shared keys forced frequent re‑authentications that disrupted teaching, while existing Cisco switches and Aironet APs failed under load, creating a bottleneck for digital learning.
Summit deployed Cloudpath Enrollment System for centralized, cloud‑based device authentication and rolled out Ruckus ZoneFlex R710 access points with ZoneDirector controllers plus ICX switches for the wired core. The result: persistent, secure authentication across campuses, reduced IT troubleshooting with shared faculty onboarding, high‑density, high‑performance Wi‑Fi that handles web, video and admin traffic at scale, and a network that supports new education platforms.
