A RUCKUS Networks Case Study

Preview of the Bella Center Copenhagen Case Study

Bella Center Copenhagen Europe’s First Conference Center Fully-Equipped with 802.11ac Wave 2

Bella Center in Copenhagen, part of BC Hospitality Group, is one of Scandinavia’s largest conference and hotel complexes and was struggling to meet modern connectivity demands. Its incumbent Wi‑Fi could only support about 7,500 concurrent users—less than 40% of venue capacity—resulting in slow performance, black spots and frequent complaints during large events.

After a successful proof of concept, Bella Center deployed Ruckus 802.11ac Wave 2 with 900 APs across the hotel and 340 APs in the exhibition center, managed by ZoneDirector and using BeamFlex for targeted coverage. At the 2016 ESMO conference (23,000 attendees) the network supported over 21,000 concurrent users and 33,000 unique devices while using only ~65% of capacity; helpdesk cases fell from 1–1.5% to 0.01%, delivering dramatically faster, more reliable high-density Wi‑Fi and making Bella Center Europe’s first Wave 2-equipped conference center.
