Amrita University scales campus Wi-Fi for 30,000 students with RUCKUS Networks

Amrita University, a fast-growing multi-campus institution in India, required a more robust and dependable wireless network following increased digital demands post-pandemic. The challenge involved accommodating large classrooms, integrating with legacy systems, and ensuring the network was scalable for future growth. They turned to RUCKUS Networks for a solution.

RUCKUS Networks implemented a variety of their access points (including R550s, R650s and R750s) managed by the Virtual SmartZone controller. This solution improved network performance, maintained compatibility with existing switches, and allowed each AP to handle over 60 clients simultaneously. With the scalable and easy-to-use RUCKUS system, the university now has a reliable foundation supporting next-gen learning applications and can proactively plan for continued network improvements across its campuses.
