A RUCKUS Networks Case Study
Access Networks, a Los Angeles–based networking firm founded in 2003, expanded from enterprise work into large-scale residential installs and nationwide integrator support. They struggled with challenging RF environments and restrictive installations (glass, tile, mirrors), lack of on‑site tech support, and no unified way to proactively manage hundreds of remote WLANs—especially devices behind firewalls/NAT—while needing better coverage with fewer APs.
They deployed Ruckus ZoneFlex 7962 APs, ZoneDirector controllers and the FlexMaster hosted management system. Dynamic beamforming delivered roughly 60–70% better coverage with fewer APs, while FlexMaster provided auto-discovery, “phone home” connectivity, alerts, bulk firmware/configuration, remote diagnostics and tiered integrator access—reducing truck rolls, enabling proactive troubleshooting and turning installations into recurring managed‑Wi‑Fi services.
