Timewarp Re-Architects Its Backup Solution with Rubrik to Improve Performance and Simplify Operations

Timewarp is a Vienna-based MSP specializing in hybrid cloud services and infrastructure, operating two Tier III data centers and managing about 1,000 virtual machines and nearly 1 PB of data. Facing an aging, hard-to-scale backup stack (Microsoft DPM) that demanded high manual effort and lacked flexibility, Timewarp needed a future-proof solution to improve scalability, reliability and reduce daily backup management time.

After a successful proof-of-concept, Timewarp deployed Rubrik (integrated with Pure Storage and NetApp) for automated, API-first backups, Live Mount recoveries and a customer self-service portal. The new solution now protects all 1,000 VMs, enables faster restores and custom SLAs, supports DR and compliance use cases, and saves roughly two hours of backup management per day while simplifying operations.
