A Rubrik Case Study
The National Center for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Genetics (NCDEG) is an independent non-profit research hospital in Amman, Jordan, providing care and training in diabetes, endocrinology and genetics to about 1,500 patients daily. NCDEG’s 13‑year‑old legacy backup system suffered hardware failures, limited two‑month retention, storage shortages and Windows‑based backup servers that left the organization vulnerable to ransomware — problems that consumed a small IT team and risked critical research and patient data.
NCDEG deployed Rubrik’s modern data management platform, which resolved capacity issues with deduplication (now at 55% capacity), delivered immutable backups to defend against ransomware, and enabled instant recovery with Live Mount. The change cut backup management from three hours per week to five minutes (over 90% time savings, returning 18 days of productivity), sped restores from hours to minutes, reduced data center footprint from 8U to 2U, and provided multi‑hypervisor support and responsive vendor support.
